Parents Punk Rock Music Problem!!!!!!!!?

Ok, Im 16 and Love skateboarding and Punk rock, but my parents hate both!!!!!!!!!! I want to wear skateboarding shirts(like spitfire, independent, and almost), but my parents want me to wear nicer clothes form holister and stuff saying my skate clothes are disrespectful. Im paying for my own clothes so should I be able to wear what I want! Also I like punk rock like strung out, pennywise, vision, the offspring, lagwagon and bad religion but my parents think punk rock and emo are the same and they think my music is about cuting myself!!!!!! How to help with my parents!!!

real Punk music is "The Who", or "Sex Pistols",or "the Doors" not "Pennywise", that's alternative/emo.

I know music, and your parents are right when it comes to what genre you listen to.

as far as clothes, I wear these type of clothes (skater) and, These are the type of brands you see a little kid wearing. you should take your mom to hollister and show them that hollister is expensive!

your parents are freaks! Punk is not about cutting ourselves! it was invented as an alternative to Elvis, first exercised during the reign of The Beatles. Emo music was invented as an alternative to 90's Alternative/Grunge. and Grunge is a mixture of Heavy Metal and Punk to symbolize the hardships of the 80's. Alternative was first what people called "College Rock", until the term "College Rock" came about. Now the term Alternative is similar to the term "Cousin", as any music that does not have a Genre.
